V-connect is a community founded on the need for support and connection amongst experienced and novice professionals in mental health. Created for individuals who want to provide high-quality counselling services, are driven and embedded in the Kenyan context while embracing our diversity in experience, specialization, background, culture and ethnicity. We believe that by combining our expertise as professionals in the field of counselling and psychology, we can support and nurture a generation of competent and confident counsellors and clinical psychologists.

Our Objectives
+ To promote targeted connections amongst professionals in similar specializations.
+ To strengthen the mental health industry through networking of professionals.
+ To create safe spaces for counsellors and psychologists to give and receive feedback through peer-to-peer sessions.
+ To provide themed workshops or talks on contextual or emerging issues in the mental health industry.
+ To promote professional advancement through sharing of continuous education training opportunities.
+ To facilitate professionalism through sharing of tools and resources in counselling and mental health.

V-connect | Mentorship program 2024
Are you a counsellor in need of mentorship?
Every successful person in history says that they have had great mentors who inspired them during their rise to success. Through mentorship under V-connect, we look to inspire and guide proactive counsellors and psychologists towards the realization of their professional goals.
The V-connect mentorship program 2024 will run for 9 months and will be facilitated by Wendy in a small, intimate group setting with a focus on the mentees’ learning and career objectives for the same period. The set up for this program will be based on equality and the principle “in proximity of others we learn”.
Through mentorship, you will be able to:
+ Sharpen your knowledge and develop skills relevant to your line of work
+ Be guided and receive feedback on your current work
+ Get advice as you make important life and career decisions
+ Gain new perspectives that will positively shape your practice and career path
+ Build transformative, supportive professional relationships
Requirements for mentorship:
+ Be actively practicing as a counsellor/psychologist working with clients in a clinical setting
+ Share specific learning/career objectives connected to the mentor’s given area of expertise
+ Chair mentorship moments on a rotational basis that is planning, opening, guiding and closing
+ Support and hold your fellow mentees accountable towards achieving learning/career objectives
+ Proactively research on topics/information connected to your respective learning objectives which you will present to your mentorship group

+ Fill in the V-connect mentorship program 2024 registration form (see link below)
+ Upon filling the registration forms, you will receive an email confirming your eligibility for this mentorship program with further details on the steps to follow.
